United for Warm Homes

Writer: Brent FoeBrent Foe

Friends of the Earth is launching a new, broadly-based initiative, United for Warm Homes.

Brent FoE and Climate Action Group is supporting this at our online event, drawing together many local groups and organisations.Millions of people are trapped in heat-leaking homes that are damp, cold and expensive to keep warm. Energy bills are sky-high and the cost of living is spiraling out of control. Too many of us face the impossible choice between turning the heating on this winter or putting food on the table.

Our energy system is broken. Here in Brent some of us will feel the effects more than others. But together we can do something about it. Are you ready to take action on the energy crisis? Then this event is for you.

Let’s get together to talk about the local impacts of the energy crisis. You’ll get to meet others from across our community and plan the first stages of the campaign.

We’re campaigning for warm homes in Brent that don’t cost the earth. Join us.

This event will be hosted by Brent United for Warm Homes, a new local coalition including Brent Friends of the Earth, Sufra Food Bank, Brent Parks Forum, Divest Brent, Advice4Renters, Harlesden Neighbourhood Forum, Transition Towns Kensal to Kilburn, Brent Multi-Faith Forum and Harlesden Mums who Cycle.
