Wednesday, 21st October. Mass lobby of Parliament to call on the government to introduce a new law that would hold UK companies legally responsible for preventing harms to people and the planet in their operations and supply chains, in the UK and around the world
The law would strengthen workers' rights, support responsible businesses, protect our shared planet and ensure irresponsible companies are held accountable for the impacts of their actions. It would set clear rules for businesses and place responsibility on companies to identify and prevent harm before it happens.

LOCALLY we will meet at Queen’s Park Station at 9.45am and at Wembley Park Station also at 9.45 a.m.
On the day, we’ll ask MPs to show their support for the new law by -
Signing the Good Business Matters pledge – joining over 80 parliamentarians in committing their support for a new law.
Contacting the relevant ministers – to make a case for action with key decision-makers.
Sharing support for the law on social media – to help grow the movement behind our campaign and put pressure on the government to take action.
Why now? UK businesses are profiting from global supply chains that are destroying precious forests, threatening wildlife and violating people’s human rights.We know the government is currently looking into responsible business practices. This is a key political moment to introduce a new law to protect people and planet.
Your presence matters - MPs are elected to represent their constituents. Hearing directly from people in their constituency can have a real impact on what they pay attention to and champion in Parliament.
MPs are busy, so not everyone will secure a meeting on the mass lobby day, which is why it’s important to ask for a meeting with your MP ahead of the day. We have heard from Barry Gardiner that he will not be there that day as he will be attending he CoP on Diversity. We have written to Dawn Butler and to Georgia Gould but have not (yet?) heard back.
However, even without a meeting, by taking part in the lobby you can help demonstrate the size and strength of our movement to MPs and the government. Hundreds of people gathering in Westminster sends a powerful message that support for this campaign extends across the country. You’ll also be able to leave a message for your MP if they can’t meet you, so they’ll know how much their constituents care about this issue.
The plan for the day at Westminster is -
9:30 to 10:30am: Arrivals and check-in at Aldersgate room, Central Hall Westminster, SW1H 9NH
10:30am to 12:30pm: Kick-off event and briefing (lunch provided)
12:30 to 1:30pm: Group photo near Parliament
1:30 to 4pm: Meetings with MPs at the Palace of Westminster
Until 4:30pm: Our space at Central Hall Westminster will stay open all day. Drop in for support or a well-earned cuppa
